Story time: Storynory
January 15, 2009
Looking for a reading site that will give students stories to listen to online? Check out Storynory an online site that has stories to listen to and read. This site has classic authors (like Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, and Rudyard Kipling), fairy tales, and original stories (Jack and the Pirate School). The stories pages are built on a blog platform, with a built in audio player with the text below. Students can leave comments about the stories, and some have still-picture slide shows with illustrations. The site is based in Britain, so the readers use British English (bonus!). There is a Junior Stories section for younger readers, too. Make your literary dreams for primary students come true with Storynory. -ALICE MERCER
