Abby Martin

Abby Taylor Martin is a Kindergarten teacher in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she lives with her husband Mike and son Elijah. Abby has worked in the education field in a variety of capacities for more than 12 years now. In and around San Francisco, California, she was as a school reform consultant in low-income schools experimenting with innovative strategies to improve student achievement. She also developed programs and grants for the Bay Area Video Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to providing access and education in new media technologies.
After getting a Masters in Education and Teaching Credential from the University of California at Berkeley, Abby finally got her own classroom! Since then, Abby has enjoyed all of the pleasures (and challenges!) of teaching Kindergarten in diverse communities. Abby is constantly seeking new ways to connect even the youngest students with technology in the classroom and has a particular interest in using photography to engage English language learners in the curriculum. Abby is glad of the opportunity to contribute to, and learn from, the Instructify community.
